Stefano Di Fulvio su F1 Tyrrel 012 sale sul podio di Zandvoort Master F1

Il giovane driver della Di Fulvio Racing è chiamato ancora una volta, dopo l'esperienza in Olanda nel 2014 e Monza nel 2015 dal patron Martin Adams, a prender parte nel Mondiale Formula Uno con la Tyrrel 012 Coswort. Dopo le prove libere annullate ai primi giri per un brutto incidente di una Williams, con una qualifica all'attacco Stefano riesce a conquistare la 2' fila della griglia di partenza nonostante una messa a punto non ottimale del mezzo.

In gara 1 con un ottima partenza riesce a mantenere la posizione e con un ritmo di gara costante a difendere la quarta posizione.

"un ottimo risultato, ho mantenuto la posizione e non era facile con gli agguerriti concorrenti che partecipano a questo campionato, l'auto non e perfetta nel setup ma possiamo ben lavorare per la gara 2 di domani. Difficile attaccare il podio, perchè Williams e Lotus hanno l'effetto suolo e sono avantaggiati in questo percorso, faremo del nostro meglio." Stefano a fine gara 1.

In gara 2 dopo le tante modifiche apportate sulla vettura , si cambia musica, partito in seconda fila è aggressivo già dalle prime curve contro le più performanti Lotus e Williams. Con tempi record giro dopo giro, ben al di sotto del suo best da qualifica a metà gara riesce il sorpasso alla Williams di D'Asembourg, che lo colloca al terzo posto. La Lotus di Thorton ,seconda, riesce a resistere agli attacchi del driver della Di Fulvio Racing che conferma a fine gara il terzo posto assoluto.

Martin Adams racconta : " We qualified fourth with Stefano DiFulvio driving. On Saturday (the first of two races) we ran a lonely fourth the entire race. Stefano suggested a raising og gear ratios as he was on the rev limiter for hundreds of yards. This was done with a very few other minor changes for race two, Sunday. Stefano got a great start and was in third after a few laps. He challenged second but was baulked and could not improve further. Thus at Zandvoort we had a fourth and third against a field of 23-24 cars. This is Master's/FIA Historic Championship racing.....the ultimate in historic racing. The year has had mixed results (to be sure), but if something is easy, what is it worth? This enterprise is far from easy.
